Vincent Edward Scully, one of America’s most famous sportscasters, died in 2013. On November 29, 1927, he was born, and on August 2, 2022, he died. These two dates appear on both his birth and death certificates.

He has been calling games for the Los Angeles Dodgers since 2016 when the team relocated from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. He joined the team for the first time in 1950.

He broke the record for the longest time spent as an announcer in Major League Baseball.

Following his service in the Navy for two years, Vin transitioned into a role as a baseball commentator for the Dodgers while the team was based in Brooklyn.

 

After that, in 1958, he moved to Los Angeles with the team, and he continued to commentate up until the year 2016 when he finally retired.

 

Vin Scully death: What happened to Vin Scully?

It was reported that he passed away on August 2, 2022, at the age of 94.

 

When Vin died, he was found dead at his Los Angeles home in the affluent enclave of Hidden Hills, which is located about 30 minutes from Dodger Stadium.

 

In the meantime, the cause of Vin’s death has not been revealed. His five children, twenty-one grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren have survived him.
