Vin Scully November 29, 1927. Vincent Edward Scully was an American sportscaster. He was popularly known for his 67 seasons calling games for Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers. He started in the year 1950 and ended in the year 2016.

His tenure with the Dodgers was so far the longest of any broadcaster to ever be with a single team in professional sports history across the globe.

 

In the year 1972, Scully’s 35-year-old wife called Joan Crawford suddenly died of an accidental medical overdose. The couple had been married for 15 years until the untimely death of Joan. In late 1973, he got married again to Sandra Hunt.

Vin’s father, Vincent Aloysius Scully, was a silk salesman whiles his mother Bridget, was a homemaker. He was of Irish descent. His biological father died of pneumonia when Scully was just four years old. His mother later got married to an English merchant sailor named Allan Reeve, whom Scully considered “my dad”.
