Shakur was pregnant but represented herself and was acquitted of all 156 charges. When she had her kids, she raised her children as a single mother. Along the line, Afeni got addicted to crack cocaine and had to live on welfare money.
Tupac, Afeni’s son then left home and later made a big name as a rapper. Afeni who later successfully overcame her addiction and reunited with her son had the shock of her life when her son was murdered. After Tupac’s untimely demise, Afeni became a source of comfort for other grieving mothers as she traveled across America, addressing gatherings and delivering speeches.
