Mbembesi, Bubi, and Zodwa were born in the Matebeleland province in 1972. For her primary education, she went to Mqwashini, for her intermediate education she attended Mt. Pleasant High School, and for her high school education, she ultimately attended St. Columbus in Bulawayo.
The godmother of Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz’s daughter was revealed by Zodwa in an interview in 2018. Zodwa Mkandla was named to the ZANU PF Resource Mobilization Committee in 2021 by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
