Tony and Colette McLoughlin welcomed Coleen Mary into the world in Liverpool, Merseyside. Tony McLoughlin, a bricklayer, was the manager of the boxing club.

Both the McLoughlins and their ancestors are Irish. The oldest of four children, Coleen lost her Rett syndrome-affected sister, Rosie, on January 5, 2013, when she was just 14 years old.

Coleen Rooney, a graduate of St. John Bosco Arts College, received an A* in performing arts in addition to her eleven GCSEs.

“Welcome to My World” is the title of a column written by Rooney for the celebrity publication Closer. In 2008, she quit Closer to pen a weekly fashion and news column for OK! magazine.

Rooney got her start in the business by helping Sir Trevor McDonald on his program Tonight with Trevor McDonald in May 2006 with a segment about the genetic disorder Rett syndrome, which her younger sister has.

She later created her own show for ITV called Coleen’s Genuine Women, in which she was dubbed “The nation’s favorite girl next door” and searched for “real women” to lead commercials instead of models.
