Giles was tortured and pressed, the reason for such punishment in the history of America, is to force him to plead, but he refused to plead, and after forcefully being pressed, he died.

His death was after three days of this torment.

Sheriff George Corwin was the Judge, who subjected Corey to the procedure, due to Giles refusing to plea. Giles was bent on not pleading and did not protest when the rocks were placed on the boards.

However, when Giles was asked three times to say his plea, he always said “More weight.”
