Carla Walker’s case has been featured on the hit crime show, “Dateline” on NBC. Though the incident happened in 1974, the perpetrator of the late Walker was not caught until 2020. Walker’s murder case remained one of the most-talked-about cold cases in America till then. The recent Dateline’s coverage of the homicide has once again brought the case among wider public knowledge.

What Happened To Carla Walker? Know Her Death Reason

Carla Walker was kidnapped in front of her boyfriend on February 17, 1974. The reason behind her death was the physical assault and strangulation that she faced. The teen was beaten and raped while she was in captivity. Her dead body was found three days later in a drainage ditch just thirty minutes away from south of Fort Worth. Walker and her high school boyfriend, Rodney McCoy were kissing in his car after attending a dance at Western Hills High School. The couple was abruptly attacked and McCoy was injured while Walker faced the vicious death. Moreover, she was also injected with morphine after her kidnapping.

Carla Walker Murder Update- Was The Suspect Arrested?

Carla Walker’s murder case finally reached its conclusion in September 2020 when the suspect was caught through DNA analysis. The murderer is Glen Samuel McCurley, now an elderly man in his late 70s. His DNA was initially taken from the crime scene but the lack of technology back in the 70s made it possible for Glen to get away with conviction. His DNA was finally put to test in 2020 and he has been recently sentenced to life imprisonment for his crime. Glen was previously a suspect in the case but was not investigated further due to the police’s loose investigation. During his trial in August 2021, Glen had testified first before the jury reached his final verdict.
