Mason Reese’s parents were William Reese and Sonia Darrin, the head of a marketing services organization and a theatrical designer, respectively.

Mason’s mother, Sonia Darrin, was an American singer who died quietly in New York City on July 19, 2020, at the age of 96. She is most known for her role as Agnes Lowzier, the femme fatale in Howard Hawks’ The Big Sleep.

After retiring from performing, Reese opened a variety of eateries in the New York City area. He opened The Luxury Box, a sports bar that closed in 2015.
