Athlete from Uruguay named Carlos Samuel Blixen Abella made his Olympic Games debut in men’s basketball after competing for 19 years. Carlos was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, on December 27, 1936. At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia, he and the men’s national team took home the bronze medal. He participated in the Olympics once more four years later. In 1960 in Roma, at the age of 23, Carlos Samuel Blixen Abella took part in his final Olympics. The list of squads for each of the 15 teams that participated in the men’s basketball competition at the 1956 Summer Olympics placed Carlos Samuel Blixen in group c, where Uruguay was placed. Before passing away on August 1st, 2022, he stopped playing basketball.
