By fifth-seeded Albert Ramos Violas, he was defeated in three sets. Bagnis earned his first ATP semifinal at the Córdoba Open in 2021.

He went one step further two weeks later at the Chile Open, reaching his first ATP final and losing to top seed Cristian Garn.

At the 2021 US Open, he advanced to the third round of a Major for the first time in his career by defeating qualifier and fellow Argentine Marco Trungelliti.

Bagnis achieved qualification and will represent Argentina at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
