A lot of lives were lost and there was nothing like peace until a king Wampanoag King called Massasoit smoked the peace pipe in an agreement between the Plymouth settlers and the Wampanoag tribe in 1620. The agreement shuttered after the death of the King. Both tribes fought for centuries until peace finally reigned in the late 90s. This is the true story behind Thanksgiving day.
