Alito was born in Trenton (New Jersey). He is the son of Samuel A. Alito Sr. His father was an Italian immigrant, and his mother Rose Fradusco, was an Italian-American.
Before he was appointed to the US court of appeal, third Circuit Judges in the likes of Leonard I. Garth whom Alito clerked for, and Maryanne Trump Barry whom Alito worked under as an assistant U.S. Attorney. These people recommended Alito’s judicial nomination to President George W.H Bush On February 20, 1990. Bush then nominated Alito to the US Courts of appeal for the third circuit. on April 27, 1990.
On October 31, Bush announced that he was nominating Alito to seat on the Supreme Court after withdrew her acceptance to the nomination. He has served since January 31, 2006.
