Luke Shaw went to Chandlers Field Primary School and Rydens Enterprise School, where he helped the Under-15 team reach the English Schools’ FA Cup semi-finals. He began his football career with Hersham and Molesey Juniors. Shaw grew up a Chelsea fan who idolized full-back Ashley Cole. Luke Shaw played at Chelsea’s development center in Guildford but was not offered a place in the Chelsea academy. Luke Shaw stated that he hoped to one day play for the club.
Shaw scored his first goal as a senior on August 10, 2018, as Manchester United defeated Leicester City 2-1. In addition, Shaw was named the first player of the month in August and again in September of the current campaign. On October 18, 2018, he agreed to a new, five-year deal with United. Shaw was named United’s player of the month for March on 2 April, giving him a season-high three such honors. Shaw won the Sir Matt Busby and Manchester United Players’ Player of the Year awards at the end of the campaign.
