The Ruby Ridge standoff occurred in August 1992, when federal agents attempted to arrest Weaver for failing to appear in court on weapons charges.

The standoff lasted for 11 days and resulted in the deaths of Weaver’s wife and son, as well as a U.S. Marshal. The incident was widely publicized and became a rallying point for anti-government activists and militia groups.

After the standoff, Weaver was charged with multiple crimes, including murder and assault. He was eventually acquitted of most of the charges and reached a settlement with the government for the wrongful deaths of his wife and son.
