John Hore, popularly known as John Grenell was a country music songwriter and singer. He was born on July 19, 1944, in New Zealand.

At the age of 19, he had sold 100,000 records since the release of his debut album in 1963. Since then, he has kept a lot of records.

In 1982, he returned to using his family name Grenell instead of his stepfather’s surname, Hore.

He travelled to Australia in August 1964 for a tour of hotels, nightclubs, and TV appearances. EMI published his song “Come On Home”/”Cool Water” when he was there.

In his personal life, John Hore was born to Nellie, his mother and Herbert Hore, his father. He also grew up with his three sisters who formed a band called the Triple H’s.

John married his wife Deidre Bruton in 1971, and together they have three sons and a daughter who are all into music.

Legendary New Zealand singer John Hore died peacefully of a heart attack on July 27th, 2022 at the age of 78.
