The last time anyone saw Kiely Rodni, 16, was at a party at Prosser Family Campground near Truckee, California, in August. A search was then conducted.

According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office and Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Kiely vanished around 12:30 a.m. on August 6 after attending a party with 200 to 300 teens and young adults at Prosser Family Campground inside Tahoe National Forest.

Over the past two weeks, search teams made up of volunteers and law enforcement personnel have made extensive efforts to find her and her silver Honda CR-V, which has also been missing since the party night before.

 

Where did Kiely Rodni go missing?

After a thorough two-week search by numerous agencies, a volunteer diving team announced on Sunday that it had discovered Kiely Rodni’s vehicle and presumed body. The Northern California teen had been missing since early August and was last seen at a sizable party close to Truckee.

The Prosser Creek Reservoir’s “Car is upside down in only 14 (feet) of water,” according to a post on Adventures with Purpose’s Facebook page shortly after 2:30 p.m. Family Notified: “We have CONFIRMED Kiely is inside.” Law enforcement is en route. In a post on social media shortly after 3:30 p.m., the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office stated that it was “aware of this information” and that deputies were “en route to meet with Adventures With Purpose.”

Just after 8 o’clock in the evening, the organization and the Placer County Sheriff’s Office released a joint statement saying that although investigators were still on the scene, a body had been found.
