Ann Kim, a chef of Korean descent, moved to the US when she was only four years old along with her family. Eventually, they made their home in a suburb of Apple Valley, Minnesota, where Ann spent the majority of her formative years.

It’s interesting to note that Ann began working in the kitchen at a young age, frequently assisting her mother and grandmother as they prepared traditional Korean meals.

She not only fell in love with Korea and its culture as a result of this practice, but she also came to realize how much she loved to cook and eat.

Readers would be surprised to learn that Ann was also very interested in the movie business; as a result, after earning her bachelor’s degree in English from Columbia University in New York City, she started working as a professional actress.

After about eight years of working in the entertainment industry, she quickly realized that the food industry was where she belonged. Pizzeria Lola, her first pizzeria, opened in Minneapolis in 2010 as a result of her decision to finally pursue her dream.

As Ann continued to serve delicious food, her popularity soared, and she soon found herself opening Hello Pizza, her second eatery, which specializes in pizza, salads, and meatballs.

She refused to draw a boundary despite having two restaurants working for her because she was confident in her ability to grow her company. As a result, she opened her third restaurant, Young Joni, in 2016, which featured delicious wood-fired dishes in addition to all of her well-known pizzas.

While Ann always makes sure to use only the freshest ingredients and homemade dough, her pizzas are best known for their unusual toppings, including one that contains kimchi.

She accomplished this by fusing eastern and western cuisines, and she even received praise for her efforts.

Where Is Chef Ann Kim Now?

Currently, Chef Ann is a contentedly married woman who lives in Minneapolis and runs the pizzerias Pizzeria Lola, Hello Pizza, and Young Joni. Additionally, she started Sooki and Mimi, a four-seat restaurant, in February 2021.

Although the Korean-American chef announced in July 2021 that she would be taking a break, we wish her the very best and hope that long-term happiness never eludes her.
