Paul Francis Gadd (born 8 May 1944), better known as Gary Glitter, is a former English glam rock singer who rose to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s.
His career was cut short when he was imprisoned in 1999 for downloading child pornography. In addition, he was convicted of child sexual assault in 2006, as well as a slew of sexual offenses (including attempted rape) in 2015.
Gadd had a sustained solo UK chart run of hits including “Rock and Roll (Parts 1 and 2)”, “Do You Wanna Touch Me”, “I Love You Love Me Love”, “I’m the Leader of the Gang (I Am)”, and “Hello, Hello, I’m Back Again” after performing under the name Paul Raven in the 1960s. He became well-known for his frenetic live performances and glam rock persona, which included glitter outfits, make-up, and platform boots.

Glitter was sentenced to 16 years in prison but has barely served half of that time. He was imprisoned in 2015 and was released in February 2023.
