He rose to prominence as a co-star on Smith’s reality television show The Anna Nicole Show, which aired from 2002 to 2004. He is currently employed for the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office.
Stern was reared in Los Angeles by a Jewish household. He earned a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990 and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of California, Los Angeles. On February 25, 1994, he was admitted to the State Bar of California.
Stern’s law firm handled Anna Nicole Smith’s modeling contracts for the first time in the mid-1990s. Stern met Anna Nicole Smith after the death of her husband, J. Howard Marshall, in 1998. Stern gave direct examination at the trial when she fought for Marshall’s riches.
