Lawrence “Larry” Ray, who started a cult among his daughter’s classmates in her college dorm 12 years ago, was found guilty on Wednesday of charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and forced labour following a trial that focused on the devastating effects of his actions on his young adult victims.
Ray, 62, was found guilty of all 15 charges brought against him by the jury in a matter of hours. These allegations stemmed from a decade-long criminal enterprise in which Ray deceived and mistreated his victims in exchange for their unpaid labour and a sizable sum of “restitution” money.
After moving into their campus residence in 2010, the evidence at the trial proved that Ray gained control of a group of his daughter Talia’s college acquaintances. Santos Rosario, one of the victims, later included two of his sisters in the situation; as a result, their association with Ray severely damaged the Rosario family’s finances and mental health.
Although Felicia Rosario, a medical school graduate, left her residency program at a California hospital to be with Ray and never returned, despite the fact that both sisters are Ivy League educated. Her younger sister Yalitza is unemployed; she is currently engaged as a tutor. The three brothers and sisters, who were present in court to hear the verdict, left with the prosecution and opted not to talk to the media afterwards.

Where Is Lawrence Ray Now?
After deliberating for a half-day on April 6, 2022, the jury returned a verdict of guilty for Ray. He will now serve a life term.
