Lil Uzi Vert, who was born and raised in Philadelphia, first became known after the release of the popular mixtape Luv Is Rage in 2015. This led to a recording deal with Atlantic Records, where they signed under DJ Drama’s Generation Now brand.
Lil Uzi Vert became famous after their debut track “Money Longer” was released in 2016. In 2016, Lil Uzi Vert released the mixtape Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World, which also featured the song “You Was Right,” as the record’s lead single.
After releasing two more mixtapes in 2016 and 2017, one of which was a joint effort with Gucci Mane, Lil Uzi Vert appeared on Migos’ number-one song “Bad and Boujee” from the Billboard Hot 100.
The lead single from Lil Uzi Vert’s first studio album, Luv Is Rage 2 (2017), was titled “XO Tour Llif3” and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
