A professional footballer from Ghana named Christian Atsu Twasam was born on January 10, 1992, and passed away on February 6, 2023. He mainly functioned as a winger. On occasion, he also played as an attacking midfielder.

Atsu was born in Ada Foah, which is a part of the Greater Accra Region. Atsu completed a portion of his education at the West African Football Academy, which was once the Feyenoord Football Academy in Gomoa Fetteh, Ghana’s Central Region. The academy is located in Sogakope, Ghana’s Volta Region. Atsu then relocated to Kasoa in Ghana’s Central Region where he joined Cheetah FC.

Atsu and Süper Lig team Hatayspor agreed to a one-year starting contract with a one-year option on September 6, 2022. The day before the earthquake that claimed his life, on February 5, 2023, he participated in three league games and one Turkish Cup match. In the eighth minute of extra time against Kasmpaşa at home, he scored the game’s lone goal.

Christian Atsu, a former winger for Chelsea, Everton, and Newcastle, was discovered dead on February 6 under the debris of his Turkish home. The notice made by his agent verifies Atsu’s demise. “I must inform all well-wishers that Christian Atsu’s body was tragically discovered this morning with the heaviest of hearts”. On Saturday, his agent Nana Sechere tweeted, “My sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
