Derek Carr overcame a 0-3 start to the season in which he threw two touchdown passes to five interceptions by tossing 437 yards, four touchdown passes, and two picks in a 45-42 overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

Derek Carr broke the franchise record for most passes without an interception in Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals, passing for 263 yards and a score while completing 301 passes and losing 30-16.

When the Bulldogs finished 2011 with a 4-9 record, Carr won the right to start. In the Bulldogs’ season-opening defeat against California, he played his first game as a starter. With 371 passing yards, five touchdown passes, and two interceptions in a win over Idaho three weeks later, Carr had a breakthrough performance.

Derek Carr recorded a season-high 391 passing yards and three touchdowns on November 12 six games later, in a loss against New Mexico State. Carr has 3,544 throwing yards, 26 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in the 2011 campaign. He ranked among the top passers in a number of categories for the Western Athletic Conference.
