Sven Ulreich started two clean sheets for Stuttgart II in their first four Regionalliga games, in the 2007–2008 season. During the previous season, he participated in 10 games and was given two yellow cards, he was also promoted to VfB Stuttgart’s first team in January 2008, Sven participated in another game for the reserve team. On February 9, 2008, he made his team debut in a 3-1 loss to Hertha BSC, and on February 16, 2008, he defeated MSV Duisburg which he achieved his first win as a starting goalkeeper. Ulreich’s VfB Stuttgart contract was extended on April 6th, 2010, till the summer in 2013, and in January 20, 2012, he extended his contract till June 2017.
