The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is a popularly known American mixed martial arts. The sport was founded by a businessman named Art Davie and Brazilian martial artist known as Rorion Gracie. The first ever event of the UFC was held in the year 1993. The main purpose of the early Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competitions was to spot out the most effective martial art in a contest that has minimal rules and as well no weight classes between competitors of different fighting disciplines. Even though the UFC used the tagline “There are no rules” in the early days of 1990s, the sport did operate with limited rules in reality. The UFC over the years has slowly risen in popularity after the Zuffa purchase, which was due partly to greater advertising.

During a post-fight presser of the sport, the UFC president who is identified as Dana White, stated that, martial artist Roy Nelson broke a UFC record. Where he absorbed 437 significant strikes without being knocked out.

Roy Nelson is the only martial artist who has absorbed most strikes in the UFC history so far.
