A 19-year-old student of the University of Massachusetts Amherst has died after being in an awful accident last night. Elena Lucore was on Massachusetts Avenue with a friend when she was struck by a car that took her life.

Following this, she was rushed to a hospital in Springfield where she was pronounced dead almost after 12 hours. However, her friend didn’t suffer any injuries. Reports say that the diver of the car was also a UMass Amherst student.

Elena Lucore was a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst who died in a car accident last night.

As reported by local authorities, she was walking near the former UMass Visitor’s Centre with a friend when a car struck her. The blow was heavy, and she was rushed to Baystate Medical Centre in Springfield.

Also, the driver of the car is recognized as a 21-year-old UMass student. According to the police, he fully cooperated with them. Nonetheless, an investigation is currently undergoing.

The cause of her death will be soon determined by the office of the Chief Medical Officer.
