Kass told CNN that Hesseman died Saturday afternoon from complications related to colon surgery. Hesseman died at the age of 81.
Hesseman is survived by his wife, actress Caroline Ducrocq, whom he married 33 years ago.
Hesseman’s work on “WKRP” earned him two Emmy nominations, and he also appeared on “Head of the Class” and “One Day at a Time,” as well as guest roles on “That 70’s Show” and other shows.
