Who is Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen?
The third-largest general retailer in the US, Kroger, has had Rodney McMullen as its CEO since January 1, 2014. He was born in 1961. On the farm owned by his family, McMullen was born in Pineville, Kentucky. In his family, he was the first to complete college. Both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in accounting were earned by him from the University of Kentucky.
In 1978, McMullen began working part-time as a stock clerk at his local Kroger grocery store while still a student at the university. In 1982, McMullen relocated to Charlotte. Then he was a financial analyst at the corporate headquarters.
At the age of 34, McMullen accepted the role of chief financial officer. McMullen succeeded David Dillon as CEO of Kroger on January 1st, 2014. At the University of Kentucky, where they both attended college, he first met Kathryn King McMullen. They got married recently.
