Akshata Murty, Rishi Sunak’s 42-year-old wife, is a fashion designer and the daughter of an Indian tycoon. Mr Sunak may be the wealthiest MP in Parliament as a result of her income and his previous banking career.
After meeting while studying at Stanford University in California, the couple married in 2009. N.R. Narayana and Sudha Murty, Ms Murty’s parents, founded the software behemoth Infosys in 1980 near Bangalore, India.
Her father was the company’s CEO from 1981 to 2002, and he developed it into a multibillion-dollar global corporation.
He’s been branded “India’s Bill Gates.”
Ms Murty is claimed to own 0.91 per cent of the firm, which has secured £50 million in government contracts in the United Kingdom since 2015.
She also owns Akshata Designs, a fashion company, and Catamaran Ventures UK Ltd, a venture capital firm based in the United Kingdom, which she employs to maintain and serve her personal wealth.
