Tyler Randal Gibbs, born on October 4, 2002, is a professional stock car racing driver from the United States. Ty Gibbs races full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing in the No. 54 Toyota Supra, and part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for 23XI Racing in the No. 23 Toyota Camry. Gibbs won the ARCA Menards Series in 2021. He is the grandson of Joe Gibbs, a former NFL coach, and a current NASCAR team owner. Gibbs raced for Marlowe Racing in the CARS Late Model Stock series in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, he finished 14th in the season points standings (due to Gibbs only competing in 8 of 13 races that year), and 8th in 2018. He has two pole positions, 90 laps led, and a 13.3 average finish, with a best finish of second at Anderson Motor Speedway.
Gibbs ran a limited schedule in the 2019 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, finishing fourth four times in five starts in the DGR-Crosley No. 17. Gibbs won his first career race in the No. 54 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 21. The following year, Ty Gibbs would race full-time in the series, now known as the ARCA Menards Series East. Ty Gibbs drove the No. 18 for Joe Gibbs Racing, which was fielding a car in the series for the first time since 2012. Gibbs would win one of the series’ six races (at Toledo Speedway in June) and finish second in the standings to Sam Mayer, who won all of the other races that year. Gibbs led 104 laps in the General Tire 125 at Dover before collapsing late, his only DNF in the series and only finish outside the top four in any year.
