Blue Yonder is a software and consulting company based in the United States. Blue Yonder is a provider of supply chain management, factory planning, retail planning, store operations, and category management services. Its corporate office is in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The company’s clientele includes more than 3,000 businesses in the manufacturing, distribution, transportation, retail, and services industries. The companies that have been purchased over time include Yantriks, Blue Yonder, RedPrairie, i2 Technologies, Manugistics, E3, Intactix, and Arthur, to name a few.

In 1985, JDA Software, Inc., a US firm, was established in Cleveland, Ohio by James Donald Armstrong and Frederick M. Pakis. In 1987, all eight JDA staff members relocated to the business’s Arizona headquarters after reaching an agreement with a Phoenix-based auto retailer.

JDA went public on March 15, 1996, after ten years of operating as a privately held firm.

JDA acquired Rockville, Maryland-based Manugistics Group Inc., a developer, and supplier of supply chain management solutions, in 2006 for more than $200 million.
