Founder in 1988 by Universal Pictures, who built the baseball diamond on two farms a few miles outside Dyersville, Iowa, for the 1989 film Field of Dreams. When production was completed, the baseball diamond created for the movie was left behind. Most of the baseball field, including the diamond and the adjacent house, was on a farm owned by the Lansing family, but the left and center fields were on an adjacent property owned by the Ameskamp family

Presently, Hall of Famer Frank Thomas is the new owner of the Field of Dreams site in Dyersville, Iowa, where the Chicago White Sox defeated the New York Yankees in what turned out to be an iconic game last month.

The purchase includes all of the interest in Go the Distance LLC and controlling interest in All-Star Ballpark Heaven and the Field of Dreams Movie Site. The purchase price was disc. Thomas and his partner, Chicago real estate developer Richard Heidner, bought the interest in the property from the trust of Denise M. Stillman.

Thomas serves as the chief operating officer while Dan Evans, a former general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is the chief operating officer. Chicago real estate developer Rick Heidner is also in the group.
