James Avery eventually relocated his company to a studio he constructed in a nearby house. By the 1970s, the business had 35 employees and was making $400,000 in revenue. In camps in the Texas Hill Country, Avery’s jewelry quickly gained a lot of popularity, and it still does. In 1973, Kerrville, Texas, saw the opening of its first retail establishment.
