Why Did Criston Kill Lord Beesbury in House of the Dragon?
Ser Criston may not have intended to assassinate Lord Beesbury, but the enigma of his location at that point in Westerosi history is now resolved. Ser Criston is claimed to have either sliced Beesbury’s throat or thrown him out the window onto spikes outside, according to two different tales. A third narrative states that Beesbury was brought to the Black Cells before passing away soon after.
In House of the Dragon, Ser Criston assassinated Lord Beesbury because, in either case, he spoke out against the Greens. Because he was the only one to oppose the plans of the little council, Ser Criston assassinated Lord Beesbury in House of the Dragon. Ser Criston interpreted it as a slight towards Queen Alicent.
