King George was first born as Albert Frederick Arthur George. King George, according to the archives, was birthed during the reigning period of his great-grandmother, Queen Victoria. King George got the Albert name after his grandfather who was called Albert, Prince Consort, and acknowledged as “Bertie”. King George’s father, George was known to have ascended the throne in the year 1910.

Why Did King George Change His Name?

The reason behind the development was simply because Queen Victoria his late grandmother made it known at the time that, she never wanted any lineage King to take over ruling as Albert so that it doesn’t eclipse her Albert.
