The controversial musician and political activist asked some critical questions during a lengthy live video on his page which are outlined below:
“Why did people stay home during Otumour’s Mother’s funeral but refused to stay home when the president asked them to?… Why do people obey ban on drumming in Accra but disobey the president?”
He made due reference to how the entire street of Ashanti region went ‘zero’ because, the king gave a simple instructions and also made an analogy with how the Ga community and the Northern regional residents pay heed to their leader’s directives.
He also touched on how effective and powerful tradition use to be by stating an example that, people obeyed without force in any form, when local leaders asked them not to go to farm or refrain from certain activities on certain days.
According to his observation, the people fear traditional authority than a whole government which has all the security apparatus ranging from the military, police, and the rest.
The political activist argued that, the government should decentralize power to increase the authorities of some of these traditional leaders to be engaged in the process of governance to help regulate activities better. Watch the full video below.
