August “Auggie” Pullman is known to be a typical ten-year-old child, although his appearance proves otherwise. His older sister is Olivia, but she is been called “Via.” Via tries to shield him from critics since his parents believe he is a unique child, due to Auggie’s 27 operations, his mother has chosen to homeschool him. If he could want for one thing, he would want a regular face. Auggie enjoys hearing his mother telling him the birth story, which talks about a farting nurse and a doctor who passes out. Despite Auggie’s “mushed-up face” and severe illness at birth, all his mother could see were his attractive eyes.
When the Pullman family traveled to Connecticut to visit Auggie’s best friend, known as Christopher and his family, Auggie heard his parents discussing, Auggie attending Beecher Prep for middle school. Although Auggie and his Dad don’t believe he’s ready, his Mom wants him to go. Auggie’s first day in school, he feels nervous but his whole family walks him, through several unfamiliar blocks.
Why does Auggie like Halloween so much in Wonder?
Auggie likes Halloween so much in Wonder because he gets to wear a mask. During the previous season, at the last minute, he switched to his Bleeding Scream costume, because they believed Auggie was dressed as Boba Fett in his homeroom. However, the other students are unaware that it is actually him.
