Because they are both derived from King George V and Queen Mary of Teck, he is also Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin.
When Prince Michael was born, he was seventh in line to the throne, but he is now 47th in the line of succession.
Prince George, Duke of Kent – the Queen’s younger brother, King George VI – and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark are his parents.
Edward, Duke of Kent, is his older brother. He married Katharine, Duchess of Kent in 1961 after being born in 1935. George, Earl of St Andrews, Lady Helen Taylor, and Lord Nicholas Windsor are their three children.
Why is the Duke of Kent, not a prince?
