Historically, April first of every year is considered a usual day for pranks where Jokesters toy with the minds of unsuspecting people and later debrief them about the real intent if they forget what the day stands for or laugh about it if they catch the joke.

This long held custom is well observed by almost everyone across the globe with all reasonable pranks pulled on people being duly considered as normal and acceptable as far as the tradition of the day in question is concerned.

Today is another day for such practice but unfortunately, the world is going through a lot amidst this outbreak. With the situation we find ourselves in right now, it makes absolute sense to create fun and put a smile on the faces of the depressed and also deal with the stresses of others but we need to keep it reasonable devoid of any potential to cause harm.

Moreover, this mostly fun filled practice sometimes record excesses where people go overboard in trying very expensive and life-threatening jokes on others. In some cases, it ends up ugly if the victims fail to mobilize the required emotional strength to contain the occurrence.

If there is any other April first to exercise extra caution in playing with people, it should be today. Kindly desist from careless pranks purported to misinform people regarding serious issues, especially health related ones like COVID-19.

If you are a health worker, do not play with anyone’s status of the disease or give wrong test results. If you are a reporter, kindly disseminate strictly accurate information. The general public must also desist from any planned attempt to lie about contracting the disease. Such jokes will be very expensive considering our current situation. Lets all be responsible and play wisely.
