The Bee Gees were a music group that dominated the airwaves in the late 1960s and 1970s. The group featured three brothers and were often referred to as the “Disco Kings”.

The group has sold over 200 million records to date. The group is known for the film “Saturday Night Fever”.

The trio were born on the Isle of Man, brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. They started singing when they moved with their family to Australia.

In 1960, the brothers formed a band called “BG” but changed the name to “Bee Gee”. In 1967, Vince Melouney and Colin Petersen joined the group and they released “New York Mining Disaster 1941”, which was their first commercial success.

The group released more chart-topping songs such as “To Love Somebody” and “Holiday”.

In 1969, Robin decided to leave the group because he felt Barry was given more attention.

Barry, Maurice and Petersen continued as Bee Gee but the group was never the same.

By 1970, Petersen was fired from the group and all the members became solo artists. End of 1970, Robin decided to come back to the group and the three brothers reunited.
