Michael Jeffrey Jordan is an American businessman and a former basketball player. He is referred to as the Greatest of All Time. He played for sixteen seasons in the NBA and won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls.

Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn. He started playing basketball in his high school, by his senior year he was selected to play the 1981 McDonald’s All-American Game and averaged 27 points.

Jordan was selected by the Chicago Bulls, he was the third overall pick in the 1984 NBA draft after Hakeem Olajuwon. He had a great season and soon became a fan favorite, he was on the cover of Sports Illustrated that same year and was selected as NBA Rookie of the Year in 1985.

In the 1993 season, Jordan became the first player in NBA history to win three straight Finals MVP awards. At the end of the season, Jordan decided to retire and signed a Minor League Baseball contract with the Chicago White Sox on February 7, 1994. But by 1995, Jordan quit baseball and went back to basketball.

Jordan retired for the second time in 1999 and in 2001, he returned to play for the Washington Wizards to raise money for victims of 9/11. In 2003, Jordan became the all-time leading scorer in All-Star Game history, a record that was broken by Kobe Bryant and Lebron James.

Jordan retired finally in 2003 and went into business, opening a clothing line and became part owner of the Hornets in 2013. Jordan is alive and still very active with his businesses.
