Barbara Thompson was born on July 27, 1944. She was a professional singer, composer, saxophonist, flautist and songwriter. She has been active since 1964 and had several albums and songs to her credit. She performed jazz as her genre of music.

For his contributions to music, Barbara Thompson received the MBE, Member of the Order of the British Empire title.
Two of her albums from the 2000s were released on Intuition: Never Say Goodbye by Paraphernalia and In the Eye of a Storm by Barbara Thompson and Friends.

She was married to Jon Hiseman, a drummer and was blessed with two children, Anna Hiseman, her daughter who is a singer and Marcus Hiseman, her only son.

At the time of her death, she had a net worth estimated between $1 million and $5 million.

The late British singer and composer Barbara Thompson 1997 was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease which forced her to retire in the year 2001 with a farewell concert.

It’s the same disease that caused her death on 9th July 2022.
