David Wilson was a former Scottish international professional footballer. He played on the field as an outside left. Wilson is one of the most remembered players of Rangers.
He is remembered for his 10 years of professional football career with Rangers.
Wilson was a key player in the Rangers team that won the Scottish cup in 1960.
After his retirement, Wilson remained a fan of his former football club, Rangers.
He attended most of their matches, took part in the team’s parties and was keen on resolving issues as and when they pop up in the team. He made vital comments when the need arose.
On January 2, 1957, Wilson made his first-team debut. Wilson played against AS Saint-Étienne, and AC Milan among others even before he turned 18.
Wilson played a number of games that led to League winners getting a medal in 1959.
Wilson however did not play in the Rangers team until the 1959–60 season.
Wilson began scoring goals frequently for the Rangers.
He scored 22 goals in 50 appearances throughout all competitions after he scored just 8 goals in 51 appearances in his first three seasons combined.
Rangers won the Scottish Cup and advanced to the European Cup semi-finals.
