It was revealed that Claire’s father, Sir Frank Williams, would not go to Australia when her mother, Ginny Williams, passed away in the days before the current 2013 season premiere.
In Melbourne, acting team leader Mike Coughlan announced that he would only be in charge of the squad for the one race “until Claire is able to return.”
The remarks sparked rumours that Claire, 36, is the team manager already.
In the past 18 months, she quickly gained a few promotions at the Oxfordshire-based organization, and she is now formally the head of marketing.
Frank Williams, 70, has reportedly confirmed that a succession plan is in place in the past, according to a Thursday Telegraph report.
