Tupac, on the other hand, was born in New York City and spent most of his youth there. His family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, in 1984, and he quickly made friends with Jada Pinkett Smith there. In 1988, Tupac’s family once more relocated to Oakland, California. Tupac made his musical debut in 1991 while a member of the band Digital Underground.
