From the time of his radio debut in 1950 until the 1990s, Cacho Fontana was a microphone icon.
Fontana began her career in radio as Julio César Barton’s stand-in announcer. She later succeeded Jaime Font Saravia, who had a bad reputation at the time, as host of the newspaper-based program The Lightninga.

Argentine legendary radio and television personality Cacho Fontana is not Alive, rather he is dead. He passed away on 5th, 2022 due to post coronavirus pneumonia.
In a tribute post, Former Minister of Culture of the Nation, Pablo Avelluto, had words of appreciation for the announcer: “When I was a child there were people who were changing the media.
Their voices are the sound of my childhood. Cacho Fontana was one. of them. Rest in peace.”
