In the 1970s, Charo appeared on several television shows like The Love Boat, Donny & Marie, Tony Orlando and Dawn, and The Captain and Tennille. She became a naturalized American citizen in 1977.
In 2000, she appeared on Dancing with the Stars, Watch What Happens: Live, and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23. Charo has a career spanning fifty years. In 1995, her flamenco album Guitar Passion won the Female Pop Album of the Year award at the Billboard International Latin Music Conference and was named the best female Latin pop album by Billboard.
Charo has been married twice and has a son Shel Rasten, who is a drummer for the heavy metal band.
