Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris was born on March 10, 1940, in Oklahoma.
His father was a WWII veteran which prompted the young Norris to join the Air Force.
He served in Korea and that was where he learnt Tang Soo Do.
Norris wanted to be a police officer after he left the air force, while waiting to be recruited he opened a martial art studio. Norris won several martial art contests from 1967 to 1969.
Norris’ debut film was Bruce Lee’s Return of the Dragon. This was a box office success. Norris would not maintain this success, he starred in several low-budget films.
Norris acted in some MGM successful films like A Force of One, Missing in Action 1&2, Code of Silence and Delta Force 1&2. In 1987, he published his bestseller The Secret of Inner Strength: My Story.
