Dan McCafferty was one of the hard Scottish vocalists and certainly belongs to the group of elites to have influenced hard rock music in Europe! He was born on the 14th of October 1946 in Dumfermline, Scotland, and was the lead singer for the Scottish hard rock band, Nazareth until his retirement in 2013. He is credited with three solo albums and was the creative writer who masterminded some of the Nazareth’s biggest hit songs. He was married and had two children. Dan retired in 2013 after complications with his health and admitted he was no longer strong enough to lead the group as he had been doing since the group’s formation in1968.

Dan McCafferty passed away on the 8th of November 2022 at the age of 76. His loss was a devastating one to the world of Hard Rock and Music in general as he was truly a great singer! We hope he finds eternal rest, long live the Legend.
