Kevin Rooney is a boxing coach in America, who was imitated in the 1995 film Tyson by Clark Gregg and in the 2016 movie Bleed for This by Aaron Eckhart.

He was born on May 4, 1956, in Staten Island, New York. In 1979, Rooney began his career in boxing and earned a record of twenty wins, one draw and four losses.

On July 31, 1982, during the most vital fight in his career, he lost to Alexis Arguello a three-division hero who was carving his primary fight by another round knockout in the Junior Welterweight division.

He was also defeated by Davey Moore, future WBA world junior Middleweight winner, who retaliated an unprofessional loss to Rooney on June 21, 1981, by a knockout in seven rounds.

Rooney became Mike Tyson’s boxing coach in late 1982, Tyson had just become a National Junior Olympics winner at the age of 16.

Tyson fired Rooney together with other staff in 1988.

He later litigated Mike Tyson victoriously for over $4 million for breaking the agreement by firing him in 1988.
